The Right to an Opinion...

is apparently something that doesn't exist on Stardoll. A few months ago I posted an entry in my journal about how much I hate twilight. And let me tell you, I got a bunch of negative responses. Well last week VampLady decided to leave a rude comment in there...and I just snapped. I was just sick and tired of everybody's shit.

Well things got out of hand. Just take a look for yourself (start at bottom and read up)

To see the entry that started all of this go to my diary.

Apparently it is no longer socially acceptable to be able to think for yourself.

  1. Wow that's harsh. I am reading Breaking Dawn just because I like to finish series and well that's the last one. But seriously I was the first in my class to read Twilight. Everybody thought I was a dork. Now that I'm done with it and everybody else is reading it they are obsessed. They're hypocrits I tell you.

  3. Well I think everyone is entitled to their opinion. I don't judge anyone for it, but I LOVE Twilight. Speaking for myself I am very mature for my age. I am pretty much a bookworm and I read everything just like my mom. I don't usually go for the vampire books, but what can I say from the 1st book on I was bitten. I've read it like 3 times. My mom has read it too and we have also read the other great works of literature you listed. There's room to like them all :)

Anywho of course I know Edward isn't real, but neither are most of the other great romances you read and I do think it's a beautiful romance. A different romance, but romance none the less. I also think the movie doesn't do it justice at all and in noway captures bella and edwards feelings.

So while I don't feel that anyone should harass anyone about their opinions that's all they both were your opinions and you just both felt strongly about them.

And in the end....this is just my opinion too. I still love ya Jenna ;)

  4. I totally agree with you! I also have a similar journal entry and SO many people have harassed me about my own opinion! I was also a member of the club AntiTwilight but eventually I had to leave it, because every single day a Twilight lover joined and would harass us even though there are numerous topics explaining our position. I just couldn't take the bickering any more and didn't want to be a part of it.
I also read the books quite a long time ago, before the major hype, but eventually, the obsessed fans are the major reason I dislike the series. Over the past summer (2008) I re-read the series and just realized first of all, how terrible the writing is. It's very...I can't explain it, like it was written by a 13-year-old obsessed with her crush. It's all very superficial to me. I just hated the writing and came into contact with a lot more fans. The breaking point, came in October or November, when some of the actors were a part of a tour with Hot Topic in the US. They would travel to different malls and sign posters, CDs, etc. When Robert Pattinson went to San Francisco multiple people were injured, others were trampled, and one girl was slammed into a wall and hurt her nose. Some people were also arrested because they were resisting the security officers. All in effort to see Robert P! Who, by the way, had NOT even arrived at the mall yet. That tour spot was canceled, needless to say. That made me extremely mad, that people were so crazy as to injure someone, carelessly, just to see an actor in the movie adaption of their precious badly-written series. I couldn't even believe I had ever liked that series and regretted even telling my friends about it.

  6. I loved twilight,now not so sure.
The movie changed my opinion on it.Kristen as Bella, umm not my favorite choice.
Shes not a very talented actress, espiecially at the hospital scene at the end.
The movie showed me how annoying the fanbase has gotten.
All these eight year olds now are reading the book and Im sitting there ashamed.
I got called a loser too for wasting my time at lunch reading it,skip ahead two years all the annoying girls in my grade sitting around a table saying how much they love that hot vampire.
I went from reading the book over to getting bored with it.

  7. Wow that's a lot to read. But fake wannabe vampires on stardoll, need to sit down. So what if someone doesn't like something. To tell you the truth they're so much little movies and books out there better than twilight. For the younger ones they really get into.

  8. EW!! haha I HATE Twilight! And Edward is ugly (the movie character) hahaha!
I LOVE reading, but I'm more of a biography girl. OR things from the past, like the Little house on the prarie series, BEAUTIFUL! Makes you appriciate things in life, even though the books are that big.

  9. I just think of Twilight as any other book. Not a love or hate thing. :/

Most people are like "ZOMFG I LOVE IT" to fit in or "ZOMFG I HATE IT SO BAD" to "rebel".

Seriously I don't see the big deal about Twilight.
